The More Homes Built Faster Act, passed by Ontario in late 2022. Opened up garden-suite and ADU zoning across nearly every municipality in the province as-of-right, eliminated most development charges on secondary units, and shifted the framework from “can I build a secondary unit?” to “does it pencil?”.
